Pet / Dog Licenses are required and are issued by the Town of Stephenson Treasurer:

All dogs over the age of 5 months, male or female, within the Town of Stephenson must get a certificate of license and tag to be attached to a collar. Owners found in violation are subject to a fine and the offending animal(s) subject to impoundment at the owner’s expense. See Code of Ordinances, Title 1, Chapter 3, 1-3-1 Fee Schedule or contact Treasurer for more information.

Effective July 1, 2026:

$10 for all intact dogs

$5 for spayed or neutered dogs

$35 for first 12 dogs, then $7 per dog thereafter for Multiple Dog (Kennel) licenses

(proof of rabies shots and neutering from veterinary mandatory for all dogs)


License is valid for 1 year ~ January to January.  Can be paid with property taxes in December/January.  You must issue 1 check for taxes and 1 check for pet license.
